Ajax Preview: Dutch hosts looking to consolidate position at top end of the league

Ajax come into matchday four in good shape having won two and drawn one in their opening three matches so far. The goals are being spread around the team, with six different players scoring in the first three matches so they will be confident of racking a few up in this one on home soil.

With no confirmed absentees, boss Francesco Farioli will likely make a few rotations for this match but he will want to maintain their momentum. They come off a 3-0 win over Qarabag in this competition and back-to-back wins over Feyenoord and PSV so confidence is flying right now.

Maccabi Tel Aviv Preview: Israelis desperate to halt three-match losing streak in Europa League

It has not been a good start for Maccabi Tel Aviv as they have lost all three matches in the Europa League so far as they are languishing near the bottom of the league. Their task does not get any easier as they make the trip to Amsterdam to face an in-form Ajax side.

They were doing well in the Israeli league but defeats in their last two matches has seen them drop to third and they come into this match in below-par form by their high standards. They have a couple of absentees as Osher Davida is suspended but boss Zarko Lazetic will likely make changes to freshen things up anyway.

Ajax vs Maccabi Tel Aviv Prediction

Ajax are firing on all cylinders right now having won their last six in all competitions and they have played some crunch matches against Feyenoord and PSV during that time. They may well rotate here but they have enough quality and depth to do that and still field a really strong team.

Everything points to a comfortable Ajax win here and it is hard to see Maccabi Tel Aviv troubling them too much. They look fragile from a defensive perspective which does not bode well when facing such a quality attacking outfit like Ajax.

Expect the Dutch to get the win here and it could easily end up with a four or five goal margin.
