Over a number of years, Mohamed Salah has proven himself to be one of the most potent goalscorers in Europe and his record in front of goal reflects that. The Egyptian still has plenty of time left to add to his tally, especially in the UEFA Champions League.

As it stands, Salah boasts 49 goals in the Champions League proper, which doesn't include the four goals he has scored in the qualification stages. The vast majority of his strikes have been scored for Liverpool. In this regularly updated article, we break down the numbers.

• Despite having netted so many goals in the competition, only once has Salah reached a double-figure number of Champions League goals in a single season.
• That season was 2017-18 when Salah's Liverpool made it all the way to the Champions League final, where they were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid.

• Over 75% of Salah's Champions League goals have come in the group stage/league phase
• As the competition has gone on, Salah's numbers have - unsurprisingly - gotten steadily smaller.

• It's a testament to the Egyptian's composure and fitness that he's scored the joint-most goals in the final 15 minutes of games (11).
• The later a half gets, the more dangerous Salah becomes with ten goals between the 31st and 45th minute (including first half-stoppage time) to go alongside those 11 goals between the 76th-90th minute and beyond.

• As it stands, Salah has found the net at least once against teams from 15 different nations in the Champions League.
• He has taken a liking to Italian teams in particular with nine of his goals coming against them.

• 10.2% of Salah's goals have come against Portuguese side FC Porto, a higher percentage than any other club.
• He has also scored five goals against Premier League clubs in the Champions League, two against Chelsea and Man City as well as one goal against Tottenham.

• Former Liverpool teammate Roberto Firmino has assisted more Salah goals than any other player in the Champions League - six in total.
• 32.7% of Salah's goals were unassisted.
