Wrexham vs Sheffield Wednesday prediction

Phil Parkinson saw his Wrexham side take the lead away at Southampton before a dramatic come from behind 2-1 loss at St Mary’s. They then fought back from 3-1 down with two late goals to win on penalties against Hull City in the EFL Cup. After that, they were much the weaker of the two sides in a 3-2 loss at home to West Bromwich Albion.

They now face a Sheffield Wednesday side that have still not got things sorted off the pitch, albeit there are some signs of life as they approach the end of the summer. The Owls produced a heroic performance to beat Bolton Wanderers in the cup after a spirited defeat to Leicester City. They were, though, hammered by Stoke City last week.

The Owls have a depleted and fatigued squad with no pre-season, and Wrexham will be solid and batten down the hatches, likely getting their first points of the campaign here.

Wrexham vs Sheffield Wednesday tip: Wrexham to win to nil
