Worcestershire Rapids began their 2026 T20 Blast campaign with an 18-run victory against the Leicestershire Foxes at Grace Road. Having posted a score of 188-9, the Pears then restricted their opposition to 170-4 with some good bowling.
The Northamptonshire Steelbacks squeezed out an opening day victory, too. Northants were able to defend a score of 165-8 by just three runs with George Scrimshaw taking 3-33, with Calvin Harrison also taking a couple of wickets.
The Northants Steelbacks, coached by Darren Lehmann and captained by David Willey, were perhaps fortunate the other day and Worcestershire will fancy themselves to restrict their opposition once again.
