Twice West Indies have been down by one game and twice they have come back to level things up. That deserves a tip of the cap against what is an extremely strong India side in their own backyard. The biggest takeaway so far has been how high scoring this T20i series has been, with over 220 runs scored by the side batting first in each of the last three matches. On each occasion, the chasing team has also passed 200, although they have won reached their victory target once, back in the second T20i when West Indies chased down 250.
In a rubber match with everything on the line, India should be favoured. They’ve reacted well to defeat in the second game and will be expected to do so again here. The fifth T20i being played in the Chinnaswarmy cauldron should also work in India’s favour. If they are to triumph, Sanju Samson could be key. Opening the batting, Samson has passed 50 twice in this series, accumulating 152 runs overall. Assuming we see another surface primed for plenty more runs, back Samson to score another 30 at least with India taking the spoils.
