Wolfsburg Preview: Still on the push

Wolfsburg begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table after their 14 matches so far this season. They did have their impressive run of form ended by a 3-2 loss to Freiburg at the Europa-Park Stadion last weekend.

Prior to that frustrating loss, in which they were 3-0 down after about an hour of the game, Wolfsburg had enjoyed an eight-match unbeaten run of form across all competitions under the management of former Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Borussia Dortmund Preview: Danger for Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund begin this match day sitting just outside of the top seven and the UEFA competition qualification spots after a very disappointing start to the campaign. They have been blunted by three successive draws in the Bundesliga ahead of this one.

The visitors come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Hoffenheim in their most recent outing last weekend at Signal Iduna Park. Gio Reyna took the lead in the 46th minute before Jacob Bruun Larsen equalised in second-half stoppage-time.

Wolfsburg Team News: No Lovro Majer

Croatia international midfielder Lovro Majer is sidelined through injury due to an ankle issue with a couple of key injury doubts, too, such as Belgium international Aster Vranckx as well as Sebastiaan Bornauw and Rogerio.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Grabara; Fischer, Vavro, Koulierakis, Maehle; Baku, Dardai, Arnold, Wimmer; Amoura, Tomas

Unavailable: Majer (Injured), Bialek (Injured), Paredes (Injured)

Questionable: Bornauw (Injured), Rogerio (Injured), Vranckx (Injured)

Borussia Dortmund Team News: Defensive issues

Borussia Dortmund are dealing with a few defensive absentees for this weekend’s clash with Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena. Ramy Bensebaini is missing through suspension with defensive injuries such as Niklas Sule, Waldemar Anton and Julian Ryerson.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Kobel; Couto, Can, Schlotterbeck, Duranville; Gross, Nmecha; Beier, Reyna, Bynoe-Gittens; Guirassy

Unavailable: Sule (Injured), Bensebaini (Suspended)

Questionable: Anton (Injured), Ryerson (Injured), Brandt (Injured)

Wolfsburg vs Borussia Dortmund Prediction

With an intense and aggressive style of football with Ralph Hasenhuttl at the helm, Wolfsburg’s 14 matches have consisted of 56 goals with a very entertaining style of football finally getting some results as they move up the table. They now face a Borussia Dortmund side that are underperforming in the Bundesliga once again and this one should be quite a fun watch with both teams coring seeming a good bet.

Wolfsburg vs Borussia Dortmund Tip: Both teams to score
