Virtus vs Zrinjski prediction

Sammarinese champions Virtus hadn’t ever won the league in San Marino, but they have now won back-to-back titles. Last season, their reward was an 11-1 aggregate loss to Romanian giants FCSB before losing to Flora Tallinn in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

They now face a Zrinjski side that, coached by Mario Ivankovic, are the record nine-time Bosnian champions but, after a season as runners’ up to Borac Banja Luka, they returned to the top-of-the-table last season. They have made it to the group stages of European competition in the past when they did so in he UECL in 2023/24.

Virtus have become the dominant side in San Marino but there remains a gulf to the rest of Europe and a comfortable Zrinjski victory is to be expected for this first-leg this week.

Virtus vs Zrinjski tip: Zrinjski to win -1 handicap
