Travel Distances 2025-26 – English Premier League

Here at TSZ we have put together a list of all the travel distances for the 2025-26 English Premier League season.

The distances have been determined by using the shortest route by road on Google Maps at the time of writing. The mileage shown is for the round-trip from a team's home stadium to the opponent's home stadium, and back again, for all away games in the league campaign. This is strictly a 'by road' analysis, other means of transport (e.g. train) are not considered.

Total distances

  • Newcastle will have the furthest to travel in the 2025-26 Premier League season. Local fans can expect an average away day is over 430 miles, with their total distance for league games amounting to 8246 miles. Fellow North East outfit Sunderland are the only other Premier League team who will total over 8000 miles for league games in 2025-26.
  • Midlands trio Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa will have the shortest distance to travel, with the latter boasting the shortest average trip in the division (238.7 miles).

What is the longest away trip in the Premier League?

  • The 704-mile round trip between Bournemouth and Sunderland will be the longest in the Premier League in 2025-26.
  • However, a trip to and from Newcastle's stadium represents the longest away day for ten of the 20 teams competing in the Premier League this season.

What is the shortest away trip in the Premier League?

  • Although Everton's new ground is slightly further away from Anfield than Goodison Park was, it still represents the joint-shortest round trip in the Premier League, along with Chelsea and Fulham.
  • Spare a thought for local Bournemouth fans, as even their shortest round trip in the 2025-26 Premier League season (Brentford) still comes in at 190 miles.
