Here at TSZ we have put together a list of all the travel distances for the 2025-26 English Championship season.
The distances have been determined by using the shortest route by road on Google Maps at the time of writing. The mileage shown is for the round-trip from a team's home stadium to the opponent's home stadium, and back again, for all away games in the league campaign. This is strictly a 'by road' analysis, other means of transport (e.g. train) are not considered.
Total distances

- After Plymouth's relegation last season, Swansea now have the longest total mileage for away league games in the 2025-26 Championship, with an average round-trip of over 400 miles.
- Local Coventry fans' average away trip is less than half that distance for the 2025-26 season.
What is the longest away trip in the Championship?

- Middlesbrough face two daunting away games in the league, with both Portsmouth and Swansea involving a 620-mile round-trip for local fans.
- In fact, Middlesbrough will be the longest away day for 12 teams in the 2025-26 Championship.
What is the shortest away trip in the Championship?

- Just under four miles separate the two stadiums in Sheffield when it comes to the Steel City Derby.
- Local fans of Hull, Bristol City, Swansea and Middlesbrough won't have any round trips under 100 miles in the 2025-26 league campaign.
