THE PREDICTION

World number 15 Karen Khachanov made it five wins on the spin with a consummate victory over Luca Van Assche on Tuesday, backing-up his spotless run to the Qatar Open title last weekend. The 27-year-old went five years without winning a title until last summer’s drought-breaking trophy at the Zhuhai Championships and backing that up so soon should be a huge relief. This promises to be a tough encounter against fellow hardcourt enthusiast Jiri Lehecka, who won his maiden ATP title in similar conditions in Adelaide last month. The 22-year-old overcame Marton Fucsovics in three sets on Tuesday to get a foothold in the draw here in Dubai but he has failed to win back-to-back matches on tour since that milestone week in Adelaide. Khachanov leads their head-to-head 2-0 after two straight-set results last season and his run of five matches without dropping a set suggests he can extend that streak here. Back Khachanov to win outright inside an accumulator or in straight sets on its own.

TIP: KAREN KHACHANOV TO WIN 2-0
