World number five Jessica Pegula will make a much-anticipated return to tour after her poor start to 2024 saw a split with long-term coach David Witt. The powerful 24-year-old came through qualifying before a consummate victory over an out-of-sorts Varvara Gracheva on Monday but this looks a reasonably kind opener for Pegula. However, the suitably cautious move is taking the American to win outright.
