Strasbourg preview: Rosenior’s UCL push
Strasbourg head into the final day of the 2024/25 Ligue 1 campaign with a real chance of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League after a magnificent second-half to the campaign with former Hull City boss Liam Rosenior at the helm in the Alsace region.
The hosts were dealt a brutal blow in their push for the top four last weekend, though, as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to a struggling Angers side. Strasbourg equalised via Dilane Bakwa after Emmanuel Lepaul had opened the scoring but Lepaul then snatched all three points.
Le Havre preview: The relegation battle
Le Havre head into the final day sitting third-from-bottom and occupying the relegation playoff place, albeit just two points behind Coupe de France finalists Stade de Reims as well as a Nantes side that have been in woeful form in the last couple of months.
Coached by former Middlesbrough midfielder Didier Digard, Le Havre come into this one on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Olympique de Marseille at Stade Oceane with Amine Gouiri notching a brace for Marseille and Mason Greenwood also scoring late on for l’OM.
Strasbourg team news: Emegha a doubt
Key striker Emmanuel Emegha, who has been heavily linked with a move away ahead of this summer’s transfer window, is a doubt for this one. Fellow attacker Moise Sahi is a confirmed absentee due to a long-term Achilles injury.
Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Petrovic; Doue, Sarr, Doukoure; Bakwa, Santos, Barco, Diego Moreira; Diarra, Amo-Ameyaw; Lemarcehal
Unavailable: Moise Sahi (Injured)
Questionable: Emegha (Injured)
Le Havre team news: A few doubts
As they make the trip to the Alsace region this weekend, Le Havre are dealing with a few injury doubts and they are all attacking players as Andy Logbo, Yann Kitala and Kouka are all potentially unavailable for the visitors.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Gorgelin; Nego, Kinkoue, Sangante, Ballo-Toure; Kechta, Mwanga, Toure; Casimir, Ayew, Soumare
Unavailable:
Questionable: Logbo (Injured), Kitala (Injured), Kouka (Injured)
Strasbourg vs Le Havre prediction
Strasbourg have been very entertaining to watch in the final few months of the campaign with Rosenior finally getting his easy on the eye and progressive style of football to become more effective. They now face a Le Havre side that have been able to fight against the drop by showing some good fight and genuine quality in the final third of the pitch with some entertaining encounters of late. This could end up being a basketball match, albeit Strasbourg have to remain favourites at home.
