Stoke City may well have believed they were safe but results went very much against them on Easter Monday as Sheffield United had a playoff spot confirmed, rather than a top two finish.

Stoke vs Sheffield Utd prediction

As mentioned, Mark Robins’ Stoke City side may well have believed they were safe after back-to-back victories before Easter Monday but the Potters were subjected to a Leeds United onslaught, losing by six goals to nil away to the now automatically promoted Whites. They head into the final two games of the season with a four-point lead over the relegation places.

Sheffield United have lost four of their last five matches as they have crumbled in their hunt for a top two spot and automatic promotion from the Championship. The Blades went to Turf Moor on Monday and suffered a 2-1 loss to the Clarets to mean they must settle for a playoff place and get themselves prepared for that next month.

Given United have little to play for now, Stoke will sense a chance to finally mathematically secure safety at the Bet365 Stadium under the lights and that would be a good value bet.

Stoke vs Sheffield Utd tip: Double chance – Stoke to win or draw
