St. Pauli Preview: Edging closer to drop zone

St. Pauli come into this game having lost three straight and once again, the threat of relegation begins to loom large over last season’s 2. Bundesliga champions. They remain comfortably the lowest scorers in the Bundesliga, having found the net just 18 times so far. Every other club has managed at least 20 goals.

Borussia Dortmund Preview: Goal difference boost needed

Borussia Dortmund’s resounding triumph last time out was so important for numerous reasons. Not only did it give Niko Kovac’s side a vital three points, it also saw them give their goal difference a big bump, which shouldn’t be underestimated in their fight to drag themselves back up the table and eventually into the European place.

St. Pauli Team News: Saliakas could join injury list

Manolis Saliakas is currently nursing a thigh injury and could join a group of five players already on the St. Pauli treatment table such as the versatile James Sands along with forwards Simon Zoller and Morgan Guilavogui.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Vasilj; Nemeth, Wahl, Van der Heyden; Treu, Irvine, Smith, Ritzka; Weisshaupt, Eggestein, Afolayan

Unavailable: Burchert (Injured), Guilavogui (Injured), Mets (Injured), Sands (Injured), Zoller (Injured)

Questionable: Saliakas (Injured)

Borussia Dortmund Team News: Only two out affords Kovac depth

Niko Kovac has plenty of options on the table in terms of team selection, with only Felix Nmecha and Julian Ryerson confirmed absentees. Nmecha has a knee problem, whilst Ryerson is ill. Niklas Sule could fill in at right-back.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Kobel; Sule, Can, Schlotterbeck, Bensebaini; Sabitzer, Gross; Adeyemi, Brandt, Gittens; Guirassy

Unavailable: Nmecha (Injured), Ryerson (Illness)

Questionable:

St. Pauli vs Borussia Dortmund Prediction

There have been plenty of false dawns this season for Borussia Dortmund, they cannot allow last week to be another one. Everything clicked for them against Union and while it would be foolish to expect a repeat result here, a squad of Dortmund’s quality should have far too much for St. Pauli to contend with and do more than enough to claim victory, especially with the hosts being totally out of form.

Although when taking into account Dortmund’s awful struggles on the road all season, it would be a more sensible move to back the visiting side via the draw no bet market, ensuring that extra security.

St. Pauli vs Borussia Dortmund Tip: Borussia Dortmund draw no bet
