Al Shamal come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Al Wakrah with Pablo Mari’s goal cancelled out by Aissa Laidouni. Al Shamal sit second in the Qatar Stars League after four matches with two victories and two defeats thus far domestically.
Al Ittihad, under the management of Jens Wissing, have been improved this time around after a poor defence of the Saudi Arabian title last season. They have started unbeaten in their opening six matches in the Saudi Pro League.
Despite that, though, the Jeddah-based outfit have hardly been thrilling and a stubborn Al Shamal side should ensure a low-scoring encounter in Qatar on Monday.
