Sunderland vs Dinamo Zagreb prediction

Despite their Premier League struggles, Sunderland have taken to Europe in fine fashion. They sit ninth in the league phase table on seven points heading into Thursday's fixtures, unbeaten after wins over AZ Alkmaar and Torreense and a 1-1 draw with Lech Poznan, and they are firmly in the mix for a top-eight finish.

Dinamo Zagreb are 18th on four points heading into Thursday's fixtures, sitting in the play-off places but with some work to do. A goalless draw with Hapoel Be'er Sheva and a 1-0 win over Anderlecht were followed by a 4-2 home defeat to NEC, a result that showed how open they can be at the back. They are second in Croatia, but a 1-0 defeat at Rudes on Saturday means their domestic form has dipped.

The bookmakers make Sunderland clear favourites, so the straight win offers little value. Sunderland have been strong and organised in Europe, conceding just twice in three games, and Dinamo have failed to score in one of theirs, so we like the Black Cats to win without conceding.

Sunderland vs Dinamo Zagreb tip: Sunderland to win to nil
