Midtjylland vs Ajax prediction

Ajax lost away to Hajduk Split, so it was crucial that the side got back to winning ways at the Johan Cruyff Arena last time out. They did just that, getting the better of Atalanta by two goals to nil. With three points on the board, Michel’s men now look to kick on, but they won’t have it their own way against a Midtjylland team who need victory themselves.

Currently top of the Danish Superliga, Midtjylland have endured a slow start to the league phase, gaining just one point from two rounds of fixtures, and they sit just outside the top 24. However, you’d expect a squad of this quality to put things together sooner rather than late and the opportunity to take a big scalp here in the form of Dutch giants Ajax shouldn’t be underestimated.

We could well see a close game between two of the better sides across this league phase. Neither can afford to be beaten, and it would be no surprise if they wind up cancelling each other out.

Midtjylland vs Ajax tip: Draw
