Boreham Wood vs Wigan prediction

Luke Garrard and his Boreham Wood side have knocked on the door of National League promotion for a few seasons now but this time feels different. Two late goals saw them defeat Hartlepool United by four goals to three last week, meaning they are 12 points clear at the top-of-the-table with 14 wins and two draws in their 16 league games thus far.

Wigan Athletic appear to be circling the drain after a couple of years of stagnation in League One and having been at the foot of the table for much of the campaign. The Latics did lift themselves off rock-bottom with a come from behind 3-2 defeat of Bromley last week before a goalless draw with Mansfield Town in midweek.

Wigan aren’t a good side and don’t have too much strength in depth and so, with focus on the league, siding with Boreham Wood seems the bet here given their rampant league form and the fact that these two sides may be playing league football against each other next season.
