Spartak Trnava come into this one on the back of a third place finish in the Slovak Super Liga last season, finishing below the dominant force in Slovakian football and champions Slovan Bratislava, as well as MSK Zilina. They were knocked out by Wisla Krakow in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League last year.

They now face a Hacken side that, coached by Jens Gustafsson, finished eighth in the Swedish Allsvenskan in 2024 but they have qualified for this competition by winning the Svenska Cupen. Hacken come into this one on the back of beating Elfsborg by two goals to nil, but they remain firmly in mid-table in Sweden’s top-flight.

Spartak Trnava are not in the middle of their season, unlike Hacken, but the form of the Swedes means that siding with the Slovakians would appear the way to go for this one.
