Shelbourne vs Qarabag prediction

Just a few weeks’ after Damien Duff decided to part company with Shelbourne, interim boss Joey O’Brien oversaw the Irish champions’ two-legged defeat of David Healy’s Northern Irish champions Linfield earlier this week, with a 1-0 victory at home before then sharing a 1-1 draw with Linfield at Windsor Park in Belfast.

They now face a Qarabag side that will be expected to reach at the least phase of a UEFA competition this season. The Azeri champions, under the management of Gurban Gurbanov, reached the league phase of last season’s UEFA Europa League, but they only managed to collect three points from their seven matches.

Shelbourne face a tough test in this one, having perhaps already surpassed expectations, and siding with Qarabag in both of these legs would appear the way to go.
