With delayed payment of players in March and renewed links of Danny Rohl departing in the summer, Sheffield Wednesday are coasting towards the end of the campaign in the middle of the Championship table. The Owls most recently suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium on Good Friday.
They now face a Middlesbrough side that, with Michael Carrick at the helm and under a bit of pressure, renewed their push for the top six and the playoff places the other day with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over bottom-of-the-table Plymouth Argyle courtesy of a second-half stoppage-time winning penalty scored by Scotland international attacker Tommy Conway.
