The San Jose Earthquakes are challenging Vancouver Whitecaps at the top-of-the-table in the Western Conference. Los Angeles Galaxy, who have just announced the signing of Kyogo Furuhashi from Birmingham City, sit outside of the top nine and the play-off places ahead of this one. They, too, succumbed to a hefty defeat in midweek as they were beaten 3-1 by St Louis City at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson.
San Jose will fancy themselves to get back on track here but neither side will be brimming with confidence and so a lower-scoring affair seems a decent bet.
