In the previous round, Rijeka suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Irish champions Shelbourne at home. They then, though, went to Dublin and managed to snatch a 3-1 second-leg victory to complete a 4-3 aggregate win. Rijeka have since suffered a 2-0 loss at home to Dinamo Zagreb in the league at the weekend.

PAOK Salonika come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat of Wolfsberger to edge past the Austrians by that scoreline on aggregate in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. The Greeks have often flattered to deceive in Europe, but they are assured of league phase football in UEFA competition.

Rijeka have won just two of their last seven matches across all competitions, and PAOK will be expected to at the very least avoid defeat in this first-leg in Croatia this week.
