La Real come into this one on the back of a 3-0 defeat at home to a low-scoring and struggling Getafe side in La Liga at the weekend. They have now suffered three successive defeats across all competitions with that loss to Getafe and a defeat to struggling Valencia sandwiching a 3-1 hammering at the hands of Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in the UEFA Europa League last week.
PAOK Salonika, under the management of Razvan Lucescu, defeated Levadiakos by a goal to nil in the Greek Super League at the weekend. That means the visitors have now suffered one defeat in their last five matches across all competitions after a much-needed 2-0 defeat of Slavia Prague last week thanks to goals from Stefan Schwab and Giannis Konstantelias.
Real Sociedad play an intense style of football and after an improved run of form through the autumn and early winter, there will be a concern they could now fade. PAOK are quite a defensive side and a point suits both sides so a low-scoring encounter seems likely here.
