RB Leipzig preview: Push for Europe

It has been a really tough season for RB Leipzig as they head into the final day of the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign on the verge of missing out on any European qualification, requiring them to win and hope that results go their way with Mainz failing to beat Bayer Leverkusen.

Even despite good results at the start of this season, Leipzig’s performance level has been poor throughout the campaign and they come into this one on the back of a goalless draw with Werder Bremen last weekend to mean they are now winless in their last four matches.

Stuttgart preview: Up for the cup

Coached by Sebastian Hoeness, Stuttgart are looking to salvage their season with the DFB-Pokal final against third-tier Arminia Bielefeld last weekend with the visitors having regressed from being runners’ up in the Bundesliga last season.

The visitors are finishing the season with a bit of a flourish for this one as they back up a 1-0 defeat of St Pauli by hammering Augsburg by four goals to nil last weekend thanks to goals from Atakan Karazor, Nick Woltemade, Enzo Millot and Ermedin Demirovic.

RB Leipzig team news: Klostermann suspended

Key defender Lukas Klostermann is unavailable for RB Leipzig this weekend as he is missing through suspension. They also have a few key injury concerns to deal with, too, such as Benjamin Henrichs, Amadou Haidara, Willi Orban and Xaver Schlager.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Gulacsi; Nedeljkovic, Geertruida, Bitshiabu, Lukeba; Baumgartner, Seiwald, Vermeeren, Simons; Openda, Sesko

Unavailable: Klostermann (Suspended), Henrichs (Injured), Haidara (Injured)

Questionable: Orban (Injured), Schlager (Injured)

Stuttgart team news: Potential rotation

As they make the trip to the Red Bull Arena, Stuttgart’s focus will be on the cup final next weekend so they may be cautious with regards to injuries and they are dealing with several issues such, particularly defensively, such as Ameen Al Dakhil and Dan-Axel Zagadou.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Neubel; Stenzel, Vagnoman, Chabot, Mittelstadt; Karazor, Rieder; Undav, Leweling, Fuhrich; Woltemade

Unavailable: Stergiou (Injured), Stiller (Injured), Raimund (Injured)

Questionable: Zagadou (Injured), Chase (Injured), Jeltsch (Injured), Al Dakhil (Injured), Keitel (Injured), Nartey (Injured), Toure (Injured)

RB Leipzig vs Stuttgart prediction

RB Leipzig’s performance level has remained steadily poor throughout the campaign and yet they can still salvage something from this season with UEFA Europa Conference League qualification. Stuttgart appear to be finishing well but will be forgiven for being distracted and focused on the cup final next weekend. As a result of that, siding with Leipzig, especially given their home advantage, may well be the way to go for this one at the Red Bull Arena.

RB Leipzig vs Stuttgart tip: Double chance – RB Leipzig to win or draw
