Parma Preview: Parma’s push

Having gained promotion to the top-flight last season, Parma boss Fabio Pecchia rejected offers from other clubs in Serie A but results and performances slowly made his position untenable and he was replaced by Cristian Chivu a couple of months ago.

The former Internazionale, Parma and Romania international defender has overseen the hosts pushing themselves away from the bottom three and the relegation places with a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Olimpico against Lazio extending their unbeaten run of form to five matches.

Como Preview: Cesc’s Como

Como joined Parma in Serie B promotion last season and the visitors have spent heavily, as was to be predicted, as they seek to push towards the top-half of Serie A and Cesc Fabregas is doing a good job in charge, especially since the winter transfer window.

The visitors continued their excellent run of form and made it four wins in a row the other day as they defeated Genoa by a goal to nil at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia last weekend courtesy of a 59th minute strike from forward Gabriel Strefezza.

Parma Team News: Several injuries

Ahead of the visit of Como this weekend, Parma are dealing with several injury absentees for this one. Defenders Yordan Osorio and Alessandro Vogliacco are sidelined alongside the likes of Adrian Bernabe, Nahuel Estevez and Romania international Valentin Mihaila.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Suzuki; Hainaut, Del Prato, Leoni, Valenti; Valeri; Sohm, Keita, Ondrejka; Bonny, Mateo Pellegrino

Unavailable: Yordan Osorio (Injured), Vogliacco (Injured), Adrian Bernabe (Injured), Nahuel Estevez (Injured), Charpentier (Injured), Mihaila (Injured), Benedyczak (Injured), Kowalski (Injured)

Como Team News: Diao out

One of the key Como players since the winter window has been winter window signing Assane Diao, who arrived from Real Betis, but he is now unavailable due to a foot injury, whilst Greece international Tasos Douvikas is also a doubt for the visitors due to a foot issue.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Butez; Vojvoda, Goldaniga, Kempf, Alex Valle; Da Cunha, Caqueret; Ikone, Nico Paz, Gabriel Strefezza; Cutrone

Unavailable: Sergi Roberto (Injured), Dossena (Injured), Diao (Injured)

Questionable: Douvikas (Injured)

Parma vs Como Prediction

Parma have been much-improved of late with a more effective style of football getting them results. They have been more reactive and yet, as shown with a 2-2 draw against Lazio last weekend, they have also been able to threaten their opposition. Como are on a four-match winning streak and they have suffered just two defeats in their last ten matches playing an entertaining and attacking style of football so both teams scoring would appear a good bet for this one at the Ennio Tardini.

Parma vs Como Tip: Both teams to score
