Paris Saint-Germain begin this midweek sitting a point clear of Lens at the top-of-the-table. The Parisians did defeat Liverpool quite comfortably in the UEFA Champions League last week but were again pegged back and stunned in Ligue 1 as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Olympique Lyonnais at the weekend.

Nantes begin the midweek sitting five points behind the relegation playoff place, occupied by Auxerre, and nine behind Nice, who denote outright safety. The Canaries’ 1-1 draw with Stade Brest at Stade de la Beaujoire last weekend has extended their current drawing streak to three matches in France’s top-flight.

Nantes have made themselves a bit tougher to beat but PSG would have to remain firm favourites, especially with their home advantage in the capital city.
