Panathinaikos vs Samsunspor prediction

Panathinaikos reached the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, but are now eyeing up UEFA Europa League league phase football this season. The Greek giants were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Rangers, but they then defeated Shakhtar Donetsk on penalties in the UEFA Europa League.

They face a Samsunspor side that have experienced a very busy summer transfer window, and the Turks have begun their Super Lig campaign reasonably well with back-to-back victories to start their 2025/26 season, most recently winning away from home and defeating Kocaelispor by a goal to nil at the weekend.

Samsunspor lack European pedigree and this will be a tough test in Athens, so Panathinaikos have to be seen as firm favourites for this one in Greece in this week.
