Osasuna Preview: Entertaining and unpredictable

Osasuna come into this one on the back of a dramatic 1-1 draw with former boss Jago Arrasate and his Real Mallorca side in the Balearic Islands last week. The hosts went behind to a Vedat Muriqi penalty in the 81st minute before a last gasp equaliser scored by Enzo Boyomo.

The Pamplona-based club begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting level on points with Real Sociedad and Girona, who sit seventh and eighth respectively. They have managed just one victory in their last 11 matches in La Liga.

Real Madrid Preview: Trophy chasing Los Blancos

Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid have already won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup this season as they chase another UEFA Champions League and La Liga title, sitting just a point above Atletico Madrid at the top-of-the-table domestically.

They shared a 1-1 draw with their capital city rivals at the Bernabeu last weekend before travelling to England to come from behind twice to defeat Manchester City by three goals to two at the Etihad Stadium in the first-leg of their UEFA Champions League knockout playoff tie.

Osasuna Team News: Boyomo suspension

Prior to scoring that late equaliser, Enzo Boyomo had received his fifth yellow card of the campaign and that means he is now suspended for this weekend’s visit of Madrid. Raul Garcia is also a doubt for Osasuna this weekend.

Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Sergio Herrera; Jesus Areso, Unai Garcia, Alejandro Catena, Juan Cruz; Lucas Torro; Moi Gomez, Jon Moncayola, Aimar Oroz, Bryan Zaragoza; Budimir

Unavailable: Boyomo (Suspended)

Questionable: Raul Garcia (Injured)

Real Madrid Team News: Defensive injuries

Real Madrid have a few key injury issues defensively ahead of the trip north to El Sadar. The experienced David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger are sidelined alongside Eder Militao with full-backs Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez are also both out injured.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Courtois; Fede Valverde, Raul Asencio, Tchouameni, Fran Garcia; Dani Ceballos, Modric, Bellingham; Brahim Diaz, Mbappe, Vinicius Junior

Unavailable: Alaba (Injured), Militao (Injured), Rudiger (Injured), Dani Carvajal (Injured), Lucas Vazquez (Injured)

Questionable:

Osasuna vs Real Madrid Prediction

Despite still being firmly in contention for a top seven or eight spot in La Liga, Osasuna have endured a difficult few months of form. The hosts were expected to struggle this season with Vicente Moreno replacing Jago Arrasate and their early season form in terms of results was perhaps flattering to them given some fairly average performances. They now face a Real Madrid side that may well have to rotate but can’t do too much rotation at the back due to their injuries. They have a key game against Manchester City in midweek but should still gear up for that with a victory at El Sadar.
