Olimpija vs Kairat prediction
Under the management of Jorge Simao, Olimpija Ljubljana enjoyed their best ever European campaign last season. The Slovenians reached the knockout playoff of the UEFA Europa Conference League before a defeat against Borac Banja Luka. They have done well in that competition but have struggled in the UEFA Champions League.
Kairat were crowned Kazakh champions for the fourth time. It is the first time since they have qualified for Europe, though, since 2023, when they suffered a defeat to Hungarian side Kisvarda in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League. They did reach the group stages of the same competition the year before.
Olimpija will be expected to flex their recently developed European nous in this one and, at home in the first-leg, are favourites for this one this week.
