Nottingham Forest preview: Famous win for Forest

In midweek, Nottingham Forest pulled off an impressive 1-0 defeat of Porto, courtesy of a Morgan Gibbs-White winner, to complete a 2-1 aggregate victory as they head into the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League.

Forest remain in a relegation battle, though, as they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting three points above the drop zone after a just one win in nine Premier League matches.

Burnley preview: Relegation-bound Clarets

Burnley begin the 33rd match day of the campaign sitting 12 points adrift of safety as the Clarets head into this one on the back of a woeful run of form, winless since a dramatic come from behind win against Crystal Palace in February.

The Lancastrians come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to Brighton and Hove Albion at Turf Moor in their most recent outing last weekend due to goals from a brace scored by Netherlands international midfielder Mats Wieffer.

Nottingham Forest team news: Murillo and Wood may return

England international midfielder Elliot Anderson missed out in midweek as he deals with the death of his mother and it seems likely he will also miss this weekend.

Centre-back Murillo and experienced New Zealand international striker Chris Wood are also injury concerns but Vitor Pereira believes they will be available for this one.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Morato, Williams; Yates, Sangare; Hutchinson, Gibbs-White, Dominguez; Jesus

Unavailable: John (Injured), Boly (Injured), Savona (Injured), Hudson-Odoi (Injured)

Questionable: Murillo (Fitness), Anderson (Personal reasons), Wood (Fitness)

Burnley team news: Still no Mejbri

Burnley boss Scott Parker has confirmed that this weekend comes too soon for Hannibal Mejbri, sidelined alongside longer term absentees Jordan Beyer, Josh Cullen and Zeki Amdouni.

There is no new news on Axel Tuanzebe, who remains a doubt, while the versatile Josh Laurent has returned to action after his recent suspension.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Dubravka; Laurent, Esteve, Humphreys; Walker, Luis, Ugochukwu, Hartman; Anthony, Flemming, Tchaouna

Unavailable: Beyer (Injured), Roberts (Fitness), Cullen (Injured), Mejbri (Injured), Tresor (Injured), Amdouni (Fitness)

Questionable: Tuanzebe (Fitness)

Nottingham Forest vs Burnley prediction

Scott Parker and his Burnley side are in a woeful position. They appeared to be solid and difficult to beat for much of the first-half of this season but they have, as was always to be expected, been way below par. Nottingham Forest may well be fatigued but they are now unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions and they should be expected to come out on top here in a likely low-scoring clash at the City Ground on Sunday afternoon.

Nottingham Forest vs Burnley tip: Nottingham Forest to win & under 3.5 goals
