New Zealand vs Ivory Coast prediction

New Zealand confirmed their spot at the expanded 48-team 2026 FIFA World Cup during the March international break. The so-called ‘All Whites’ eased through most of Oceanian qualification for the tournament before a tougher test against New Caledonia in the final, albeit they eventually ran out as 3-0 winners in that game at Eden Park in Auckland.

They now face the African champions Ivory Coast, who are managed by former Reading midfielder Emerse Fae. The Ivorians come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat of Gambia in African qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to mean that Les Elephants sit top of Group F, a point above Gabon.

This is a good way to find out how New Zealand rank ahead of next summer. Ivory Coast remain favourites but it should be a competitive and likely low-scoring encounter in Canada.
