Netherlands vs Uzbekistan prediction

The Netherlands come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat to Algeria with a heavily rotated side at De Kuip last week. Ronald Koeman’s Oranje have a strong squad but they are in a tough group alongside Japan, Sweden and Tunisia.

Uzbekistan qualified for their first ever FIFA World Cup under Timur Kapadze, who replaced Srecko Katanec mid-way through their AFC qualifying campaign, with 2006 Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro now at the helm.

The Uzbeks lack much quality or pedigree and are expected to struggle here and the Netherlands, adjusting to life in the United States with this game taking place in New York, should win quite comfortably.

Netherlands vs Uzbekistan tip: Netherlands to win -1 handicap
