Mexico vs Ecuador prediction

Mexico come into this one on the back of a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Colombia in their most recent outing. Former Real Mallorca boss Javier Aguirre has generally improved El Tri but the Mexicans have been underwhelming of late after back-to-back draws against Japan and South Korea last month.

They now face an Ecuador side that have a strong depth and emerging talent in their squad as they seek to go deep next summer. The Ecuadorians shared a 1-1 draw with the United States the other day to mean that they have now extended their unbeaten run of form to 12 matches in which they have conceded just two goals.

Ecuador will head to the Akron Stadium in Zapopan believing they can limit a Mexican side that are lacking cohesion and so siding with Ecuador would appear the way to go for this one.

Mexico vs Ecuador tip: Double chance – Ecuador to win or draw & under 3.5 goals
