Melbourne Victory vs Auckland prediction

As mentioned, Melbourne Victory come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat of the Western Sydney Wanderers at the CommBank Stadium in New South Wales last weekend. Kasey Bos opened the scoring for the Victory before Zach Sapsford equalised for WSW. Zinedine Machach then won the game for the Victorians with a 37th minute winning goal.

They now face an Auckland side that, in their first ever A League season, finished as regular season winners. The New Zealanders, who are a part of Bill Foley’s multi-club ownership model alongside AFC Bournemouth and Lorient, suffered a 4-2 defeat to Western United at Ironbark Fields on the final day of the 2024/25 A League campaign.

Melbourne Victory head into the first-leg of this A League semi-final in excellent form and they now face an Auckland side that will try and keep things tight in order to win the second-leg so siding with the Victory for this first-leg may well be the way to go for this one.

Melbourne Victory vs Auckland tip: Double chance – Melbourne Victory to win or draw
