Marseille preview: Beye’s Marseille

Marseille have endured yet another chaotic campaign with Habib Beye having replaced Roberto De Zerbi a few weeks ago as l’OM seek to get themselves a top three finish and UEFA Champions League qualification once again.

The home team come into this one on the back of three successive victories in Ligue 1, with a couple of slender 1-0 victories against Toulouse and then Auxerre in their last couple of outings.

Lille preview: Genesio’s Lille

Lille began this year horrendously and they have now been knocked out of the UEFA Europa League, with a 2-0 loss away to Aston Villa completing a 3-0 aggregate defeat to the northerners in the round of 16 in midweek.

In Ligue 1, though, the visitors have been impressive of late with their 2-1 victory away at Stade Rennais last weekend extending their unbeaten run of form to six matches as they push back towards the top four.

Marseille vs Lille prediction

The form of both of these sides is actually somewhat up for debate. In recent clashes, both Marseille and Lille appear to be finding their way and finding their form in terms of results. However, both sides’ performance levels have been a little underwhelming. That said, it should be quite a fun watch as both sides fall into the trap of faux-confidence and so both teams scoring seems a good bet for this one.

Marseille vs Lille tip: Both teams to score
