Man Utd preview: Things to iron out
Manchester United have been improved since the appointment of Michael Carrick, albeit as his reign has gone on there are concerns about the sustainability of it over the longer-term and whether or not he will be given the job on a permanent basis.
The Red Devils most recently defeated a hapless Chelsea by a goal to nil at Stamford Bridge last weekend, courtesy of a 43rd minute winner scored by Brazil international attacker Matheus Cunha.
Brentford preview: Push for Europe
They now face a Brentford side that shared a goalless draw with west London rivals Fulham. The Bees find themselves in contention for European football but their form is quite frustrating at the moment.
The visitors have now shared five successive draws in the Premier League since a frustrating penalty shootout loss to West Ham United in the fifth round of the FA Cup at the London Stadium last month.
Man Utd team news: Maguire returns
Michael Carrick did not provide an update on Matheus Cunha and so we have to expect that he is fit and available, while Harry Magure has returned from suspension, too.
Bryan Mbeumo is also fit, Carrick confirmed, while Leny Yoro faces a late fitness test. Patrick Dorgu remains sidelined alongside the suspended Lisandro Martinez and injured Matthijs de Ligt.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Lammens; Dalot, Maguire, Heaven, Shaw; Casemiro, Mainoo; Diallo, Fernandes, Cunha; Mbeumo
Unavailable: De Ligt (Injured), Martinez (Suspended), Dorgu (Fitness)
Questionable: Yoro (Injured)
Brentford team news: Several not fit yet
Previously injured trio Rico Henry, Jordan Henderson and Vitaly Janelt have all returned to working on the grass but remain unavailable for the trip north.
The same is seemingly the case for longer-term absentee Josh Dasilva, while Kaye Furo remains sidelined alongside both Antoni Milambo and Fabio Carvalho.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Kelleher; Kayode, Collins, Van den Berg, Lewis-Potter; Yarmolyuk, Jensen; Ouattara, Damsgaard, Schade; Thiago
Unavailable: Henry (Fitness), Milambo (Injured), Dasilva (Fitness), Henderson (Fitness), Janelt (Fitness), Furo (Injured), Carvalho (Injured)

Man Utd vs Brentford prediction
Brentford were tipped up to struggle this year by many, with the appointment of the inexperienced Keith Andrews as well as the sale of so many key men. Instead, they head into the run-in with Europe a very real possibility. United have been shaky, as they were in a 2-1 defeat at home to Leeds United a couple of weeks ago, and so both teams scoring may well be a good bet for this one in Salford.
