Manchester City can salvage their season with silverware in the FA Cup as they now take on a Plymouth Argyle side that pulled off the shock of the competition in the previous round.

Man City vs Plymouth Prediction

Manchester City have endured a difficult campaign and, even with an improvement in their performance level in 2025, they have still thrown in some shocking performances as they welcome Miron Muslic’s relegation battling second division Plymouth to the Etihad Stadium.

City come into this one having defeated struggling Tottenham Hotspur by a goal to nil at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London in midweek thanks to a winner from Erling Haaland. That leaves them just about tucked inside the top four in the Premier League but, unusually for late February, this is the only competition that they can win this season.

Plymouth defeated a heavily rotated Liverpool side by a goal to nil at Home Park in the fourth round thanks to a second-half Ryan Hardie penalty. The Pilgrims remain in the bottom three and the relegation places in the Championship but they have improved following the appointment of Muslic, albeit they were most recently held to a 1-1 draw by ten-man Cardiff City last week.

Even with City not being their convincing selves or at their best, up against lower league opposition, they should still dismantle Plymouth, like they did to Salford in the third round.
