Man City preview: City need consistency

Manchester City come into this one on the back of collecting ten points from their last four Premier League outings after a slow start as they remain outside of the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures.

The Cityzens most recently managed to defeat Brentford by a goal to nil at the Gtech Community Stadium a couple of weeks ago in west London, courtesy of a ninth minute strike scored by Norway international forward Erling Braut Haaland.

Everton preview: Toffees playing well

David Moyes’ second stint in charge of Everton has started reasonably well as they sit tucked inside the top-half of the Premier League with a push to finish in the European spots in the new Hill Dickinson Stadium this season.

Prior to the international break, Everton won their first ever game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as they came from behind to defeat Crystal Palace by two goals to one on Merseyside, courtesy of a late winner scored by Jack Grealish.

Man City team news: No Rodri

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that 2024 Ballon d'Or winner Rodri is once again unavailable for Manchester City this weekend as the Spain international continues to get hit by injuries after his ACL injury last September.

Fellow midfielder Mateo Kovacic is fit and has been said to be available to play around an hour, whilst the likes of Rayan Ait-Nouri and Omar Marmoush have returned to training and are 'close' to returning.

Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Donnarumma; Stones, Dias, Gvardiol, O'Reilly; Gonzalez; Silva, Foden, Reijnders, Doku; Haaland

Unavailable: Rodri (Injured)

Questionable: Khusanov (Injured), Ait-Nouri (Fitness), Marmoush (Fitness)

Everton team news: Grealish ineligible

The biggest issue for Everton this weekend is that star man Jack Grealish is unavailable for the trip to Manchester as he ineligible to play against his parent club. They are, though, able to welcome Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall back from suspension.

Both Jarrad Branthwaite and Merlin Rohl have returned to training for this weekend, albeit this weekend may come too soon for them to start, whilst Nathan Patterson picked up an injury in an U21 game in midweek.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Coleman, O'Brien, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Dibling, Dewsbury-Hall, Ndiaye; Barry

Unavailable: Patterson (Injured), Grealish (Ineligible)

Questionable: Branthwaite (Fitness), Keane (Injured), Rohl (Fitness)

Man City vs Everton prediction

Pep Guardiola hasn’t had too much issue in the past at dealing with David Moyes teams and that is unlikely to be a major stumbling block for the hosts. The thing is, City aren’t what they once were and their worst enemy tends to be themselves and so stumbling their way to a victory remains the likeliest outcome as the visitors try and make things difficult and frustrating for the hosts.

Man City vs Everton tip: Man City to win & under 3.5 goals
