Mamelodi Sundowns vs Al Ahly prediction

Under the management of Miguel Cardoso, the Mamelodi Sundowns come into this one on the back of a surprise 2-1 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs in the semi-final of the Nedbank Cup last week. They defeated last season’s CAF Champions League runners’ up Esperance de Tunis in the quarter-finals earlier this month thanks to a 1-0 aggregate victory.

Al Ahly have won 12 CAF Champions League titles, including the last two, and they have made the final in seven of the last eight tournaments. The Egyptians come into this one on the back of their own surprise defeat as they were beaten by two goals to one by Pharco in the group stages of the Egyptian League Cup during the week.

This should be quite a tense and intriguing semi-final first-leg between two of Africa’s strongest sides and a low-scoring encounter would therefore appear the likeliest outcome for this one.

Mamelodi Sundowns vs Al Ahly tip: Under 3.5 goals
