In the first-leg o this UEFA Champions League first qualifying round tie, Malmo produced an impressive performance to win by three goals to one at Mikheil Meskhi Stadion in Georgia. Goals from Gabriel Busanello, Hugo Bolin and Taha Ali gave them a 3-0 lead, before Iberia gave themselves a chance thanks to a late 86th minute strike scored by Anes Rusevic.
The 2024 Swedish Allsvenskan champions Malmo will be expected to be in a league phase of UEFA competition come September, and they have taken the first step towards that with an impressive win last week.
Malmo are entertaining and potentially quite open, so it may give Iberia a chance in Sweden, but Malmo remain firm favourites to ensure a comfortable aggregate victory.
