Luka Modric remains the star as Croatia's FIFA World Cup 2026 squad is revealed
Croatia manager Zlatko Dalic announced his 26-man squad for FIFA World Cup 2026.
FIFA World Cup 2018 runners’ up and FIFA World Cup 2022 semi-finalists Croatia are back and seeking to go deep again with Zlatko Dalic naming an experienced squad for this summer.
Representative of how experienced the Croats are heading to North America this summer, 2018 Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric is once again skippering the side with the 40-year-old, now of AC Milan, once again the star man.
Alongside Modric in the middle of the park, Croatia also boast the likes of Manchester City midfielder Mateo Kovacic and Atalanta’s Mario Pasalic.
In the final third, Croatia have again stuck with the tried and tested as Ivan Perisic is once again a part of the squad alongside Andrej Kramaric and Ante Budimir.
The Croatians have a fair bit of depth at the back, too, with Josko Gvardiol, off the back of an injury-hit season at Manchester City, the star of the show in defence.
The experienced Duje Caleta-Car remains involved alongside versatile options such as Josip Stanisic and Marin Pongracic, while Tottenham Hotspur youngster Luka Vuskovic also makes the squad after an impressive season out on loan at Hamburg in the Bundesliga.
Full-back duo Borna Sosa and Josip Juranovic have both missed out on the final 26, while Portsmouth attacking midfielder Adrian Segecic has been cut from their provisional squad after switching his international allegiance from Australia to Croatia.
