Levski Sofia finished second in the Bulgarian top-flight last season as they now take on Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.

Former Real Zaragoza boss Julio Velasquez led Levski to second last season as they try and regain and build on their former European pedigree. The Bulgarians didn’t qualify for Europe last season, but most recently suffered a defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the playoffs of the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2023.
They now face a Hapoel Be’er Sheva side that have emerged as a European regular in the last decade or so. The Israelis, who were beaten by Levski in that 2023 UECL run, could only reach the third qualifying round of the UECL last season before being beaten by Mlada Boleslav.
Both of these sides will seek to attack each other, as they will both sense an opportunity to reach the next stage with both teams scoring looking a good bet for this one.
