Ipswich Preview: Fighting finish

Having already been relegated with a few weeks of the season to go, Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna will be hoping his side can show some fight this month and they did show gain some pride with a 2-2 draw with Everton last weekend.

In the penultimate game to be played at Goodison Park, Everton went 2-0 up in the first-half via Beto and Dwight McNeil but Brighton and Hove Albion loanee Julio Enciso got a goal back before half-time for Ipswich and then George Hirst scored a 79th minute equaliser.

Brentford Preview: Bees are buzzing

Brentford have been frustrating at times this season but Thomas Frank’s Bees have now propelled themselves firmly into the top-half and they have a good chance of a top eight or nine finish and potential UEFA Europa Conference League qualification this season.

The visitors come into this one on the back of a thrilling 4-3 defeat of Manchester United at the Gtech Community Stadium last weekend thanks to a brace from Kevin Schade, a Yoane Wissa goal and a Luke Shaw own goal to mean they have now enjoyed three successive victories.

Ipswich Team News: Johnson returns

Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna has confirmed that Sammie Szmodics could return this season but currently remains sidelined alongside Conor Townsend and Nathan Broadhead. Leif David remains suspended but Ben Johnson has returned.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Palmer; O’Shea, Woolfenden, Burgess, Greaves; Morsy, Taylor; Johnson, Chaplin, Enciso; Delap

Brentford Team News: No need to change

In his pre-match press conference, Brentford boss Thomas Frank has said that Aaron Hickey is getting closer but remains 'shorting of being in the next squad'. Igor Thiago has returned to the squad, though, and could be on the bench this weekend ahead of the trip to Portman Road.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Flekken; Kayode, Collins, Van den Berg, Lewis-Potter; Norgaard, Yarmolyuk; Mbeumo, Damsgaard, Schade; Wissa

Ipswich vs Brentford Prediction

Ipswich Town have often been competitive this season, despite their dismal points return. That has produced some entertaining matches, as was the case last weekend. Brentford have been thrilling throughout the season with the Bees’ 35 Premier League matches consisting of 115 goals and they are now on a run of just one defeat in their last seven matches since the March international break. Brentford are firm favourites for what should be another entertaining clash at Portman Road.

Ipswich vs Brentford Tip: Brentford to win & over 2.5 goals
