It is the first qualifying round so all teams are generally evenly matched but this one perhaps represents the biggest mis-match as Iberia 1999 take on Malmo this week.

Iberia vs Malmo prediction

Under the management of Levan Korgalidze, Georgian outfit Iberia 1999 finished at the top-of-the-table in the Erovnuli Liga in 2024, ahead of giants such as Dinamo Batumi and Dinamo Tbilisi. They only gained promotion to the top-flight ten years ago but have now clinched two Georgian league titles.

Malmo are perhaps one of the more storied sides in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League as the Swedish giants, coached by Hendrik Rydstrom, reached the playoffs of this competition last season, with victories over KI and then PAOK before a loss to Sparta Prague.

Iberia will believe they can take advantage of an often defensively susceptible Malmo side so it could be quite an entertaining encounter in this first-leg in Georgia.

Iberia vs Malmo tip: Over 2.5 goals
