Heidenheim will be heavily favoured to make it three straight league wins as they take on the division’s bottom-placed side in Bayern Munich.

How to watch on TV: UK – Not televised / US – Some matches will be televised on ESPN channels so it is worth checking their schedules

How to watch online: UK – Not streamed / US – ESPN+

Heidenheim Preview: Heads above water

Heidenheim currently sit just two points above the automatic relegation places and inside the bottom three following back-to-back defeats. Two tough fixtures against high-flyers Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt saw them fail to score a goal as they were beaten 0-1 and 3-0 respectively.

It doesn’t get any easier for Frank Schmidt’s side with another difficult assignment against a top team, this time league leaders Bayern Munich, who defeated Heidenheim 4-2 in the reverse fixture.

Bayern Munich Preview: Favour from Union

Bayern Munich came away from a huge entertaining clash against rivals Borussia Dortmund with a point after a 2-2 draw. It was an important point with Vincent Kompany’s side not losing any ground at the top of the table after second-placed Bayer Leverkusen were held to a draw by Union Berlin.

However, the league leaders come into this encounter on the back having been knocked out of the Champions League by Inter Milan following another 2-2 draw, meaning they lost out by four goals to three on aggregate.

Heidenheim Team News: At least two out

Both Honsak and Zivzivadze are missing for the hosts and could be accompanied on the sidelines here by Norman Theuerkauf should he not recover from illness in time.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Muller; Mainka, Gimber, Siersleben; Traore, Busch, Schoppner, Kratzig; Dorsch, Pieringer, Beck

Unavailable: Honsak (Injured), Zivzivadze (Injured)

Questionable: Theuerkauf (Illness)

Bayern Munich Team News: Gnabry and Palhinha in

With Leon Goretzka expected to be out injured, Joao Palhinha should be set for a start against Heidenheim. Goretzka will join the likes of Alfonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano and Jamal Musiala on the treatment table.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Urbig; Laimer, Kim, Dier, Stanisic; Palhinha, Kimmich; Olise, Muller, Gnabry; Kane

Unavailable: Neuer (Injured), Goretzka (Injured), Upamecano (Injured), Ito (Injured), Davies (Injured), Buchmann (Injured), Musiala (Injured)

Questionable: TBA

Heidenheim vs Bayern Munich Prediction

This will prove a difficult assignment for Bayern Munich as the pressure grows in the Bundesliga title race and when considering that the Rekordmeister were in action just three days prior to this game. Despite this, Bayern have the depth needed to dominate and ultimately get the better of a Heidenheim side, who have kept just one clean sheet in all competitions since January, so back the visitors to claim a crucial three points.

Heidenheim vs Bayern Munich Tip: Bayern Munich to win
