Girona Preview: Catalan collapse
In the last few seasons, Girona have been one of the best teams to watch in Spain and they qualified for the UEFA Champions League last season with a third place finish in just their fifth season in La Liga but the Catalans have since collapsed towards the relegation battle.
Michel said it was going to be a difficult season following the sale of several key players last summer and Girona now come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with ten-man Leganes to mean they are now winless in their last 11 matches.
Mallorca Preview: Pushing for Europe
Last summer, Real Mallorca lost manager Javier Aguirre to the Mexican national team and he was replaced by Osasuna boss Jago Arrasate and the Balearic Islanders have been pushing for a top seven or eight finish throughout the campaign and potential European qualification.
The visitors most recently suffered a 1-0 loss to Barcelona at Estadi Olympic Lluis Companys about ten days ago via a 46th minute winner scored by Dani Olmo. That means the Majorcans have now managed just one win in their last five matches in La Liga.
Girona Team News: A few issues

Questionable: Abel Ruiz (Injured)
Mallorca Team News: Key doubts
As they make the trip to Catalonia this weekend, Mallorca are dealing with a few key injury doubts for this one such as attacking trio Robert Navarro, Takuma Asano and Vedat Muriqi.
Predicted XI (3-4-3): Leo Roman; Valjent, Antonio Raillo, Copete; Mateu Morey, Omar Mascarell, Costa, Johan Mojica; Antonio Sanchez, Larin, Sergi Darder
Unavailable: Manu Morlanes (Injured), Abdon (Injured)
Questionable: Robert Navarro (Injured), Asano (Injured), Muriqi (Injured)
Girona vs Mallorca Prediction
Girona are resorting to battening down the hatches and picking the players that love the club such as Portu and Cristhian Stuani, despite the fact that the ageing places cannot necessarily keep up with the intensity of it. They now face a Mallorca side that have a chance of achieving European qualification with a more progressive, albeit still limited, style of football and siding with the Majorcans to take advantage of a poor Girona side would appear the way to go for this one at Montilivi.
Girona vs Mallorca Tip: Double chance – Mallorca to win or draw
