Germany vs Slovakia prediction

Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany continue to underperform as Die Mannschaft come into this one on the back of an unconvincing and hard-fought 2-0 defeat of Luxembourg, courtesy of a brace scored by Newcastle United striker Nick Woltemade.

Slovakia, on the other hand, coached by Maurizio Sarri’s former assistant Francesco Calzona, managed to edge past Northern Ireland by a goal to nil the other day thanks to a second-half stoppage-time winner scored by Tomas Bebcko.

The Slovakians sit below Germany on goal difference, and that will frustrate them with UEFA changing the rules to make that the lead tiebreaker once again, rather than head-to-head. They have beaten Germany in this campaign, winning 2-0 in Bratislava.

Slovakia have shown, in the last 18 months, that they perform well against the stronger teams with a bit more space for their football, but the Germans have to remain slight favourites to inch their way to North America next summer.

Germany vs Slovakia tip: Germany to win & both teams to score
