Key stats

  • Germany have won 26 of their last 28 World Cup qualifying matches (L2).
  • Germany have won 13 of their last 14 World Cup qualifying matches at home (L1).
  • The last time Germany did not score in a World Cup qualifying match at home was in a 0-0 draw against Finland in October 2001.
  • Luxembourg have lost six of their last seven World Cup qualifying matches (W1).

Germany vs Luxembourg prediction

Germany come into this one on the back of a 3-1 defeat of Northern Ireland last month, with an unconvincing performance. That came a few days after they suffered a 2-0 loss to Slovakia at the start of the UEFA qualification campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and they need to pick up some momentum this week.

They now face a Luxembourg side that have started their qualifying campaign with back-to-back losses in which they have scored one goal and conceded four thus far. They most recently suffered a 1-0 loss at home to the aforementioned Slovakians last month in a game in which they were the better side.

Germany are not playing well and, despite the fact that they should win this one quite comfortably, it may not be as dominant as one might expect initially.

Germany vs Luxembourg tip: Germany to win & under 4.5 goals
