THE LOWDOWN

CELTA VIGO

Former Liverpool and Real Madrid boss, Rafa Benitez, is coming under serious pressure as manager of Celta Vigo and his time in charge of the Galicians appears to be close to an end as they remain in the bottom three and the relegation places. They have managed just one win in their 14 matches so far this season.

Their performances have remained consistently better than what their results would suggest throughout the campaign but just one win with five draws and eight defeats means they are two points adrift. They come into this one on the back of a goalless draw with Benitez’s former club, Valencia, at Mestalla, last weekend.

CADIZ

Cadiz have struggled against relegation for the last few seasons and they are very much set to do so, once again. The Andalusians have managed just two victories in their opening 14 matches as they begin this weekend sitting just three points clear of Celta Vigo in the bottom three and the relegation places.

They have been, as ever, very low-scoring, under the management of Sergio. They have managed to notch just 11 times in their 14 games. They come into this one on the back of a frustrating 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Real Mallorca in their most recent outing, in midweek, a rearranged clash from before the November international break.

THE TEAM NEWS

CELTA VIGO

Rafa Benitez has no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues with only Joseph Aidoo missing so the Galicians can name an unchanged eleven this weekend.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Guaita; Vazquez, Starfelt, Nunez, Sanchez; Mingueza, Beltran, de la Torre, Bamba; Aspas, Strand Larsen

UNAVAILABLE: Aidoo (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

CADIZ

Cadiz are missing a key few players for this weekend with the likes of Gonzalo Escalante and Luis Hernandez both remaining unavailable due to injury.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Gil; Carcelen, Fali, Mbaye, J.Hernandez; Alejo, Alex, Alcaraz, Machis; Gomez, Roger

UNAVAILABLE: Escalante (Injured), Kouame (Injured), Hernandez (Injured), Fede (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Navarro (Injured), Carcelen (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

This is a huge match down at the bottom end of the table and one that could be potentially defining for the rest of the campaign. Celta Vigo, as mentioned, have badly struggled throughout the season but their performances have been better than one win in 14 would suggest. They now face a Cadiz side that are perhaps worse than a team that are currently sitting outside of the bottom three so value could and should be found in backing a second Celta win of the season, especially at Balaidos.

BETTING TIP: CELTA VIGO TO WIN
